Photo scan

Show us your hair
instead of
describing it

Upload one photo. We read what is actually visible, your curl pattern, how coarse the strands look, dryness and frizz, or your skin tone depth and visible marks. Then we match products to it.

It takes about twenty seconds. It is free, needs no account and no email address, and you can answer the questions instead if you would rather not upload anything.

Your photo stays yours

It is checked inside your browser first. It is only sent for analysis when you press the button, and it is not saved anywhere afterwards.

It tells you what it cannot see

Porosity, protein needs and anything medical are not readable from a photo, and it says so rather than guessing.

Then it matches products

The read feeds straight into a routine drawn from 212 products, in order, with the reason for every pick.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute

Take a photo in daylight

Bare-faced reads the skin itself and is the more accurate of the two. Wearing makeup is fine as well: tell us and we read what your base is doing instead, which often says more about the skin than a clean face does. No filters either way.

We check it first

Brightness, focus and resolution are measured in your browser. If the photo will not work you are told why, before anything is sent.

You get a read and a shortlist

Each observation comes with a confidence level, and a starting set of products. Everything is editable if it got something wrong.

What it reads

Specific, not vague

For hair, it reports curl pattern, how coarse or fine the strands look, and visible dryness, frizz, definition or damage. For skin, it reports tone depth, apparent skin type, and visible marks, texture or dryness.

Every line comes with a confidence level. When the light or the angle makes something unreadable, it says unclear rather than inventing an answer.

Try it with a photo

What it will not do

  • It will not assess hair loss. Thinning and receding hairlines need a clinician, not a camera.
  • It will not diagnose anything. It cannot tell melasma from a post-acne mark, and it does not try.
  • It cannot read porosity. That is how your hair behaves in water, which no photograph shows.
  • It will not comment on how you look. It describes what is visible, and nothing else.

Privacy

What happens to your photo

It is checked in your browser before anything leaves your device. It is only transmitted when you press analyze. It is not written to a database, not kept afterwards, and not used to train anything. Your email is stored with our mailing list provider and nothing else. If you never press the button, it never leaves your phone.

Or just answer the questions

The photo is optional and always was. The quiz asks about the things a picture cannot show, and gives a fuller routine because of it.
